How To Stand In The Gap

How to stand in the gap for your neighborhood

Read Ezekiel 22:23-31 and note the conditions in Israel. Note in verse 30 that God searched for a prayer warrior who would stand in the gap and found none. Be that one! Stand in the gap!

Pray with hearts of compassion.

The Bible says Jesus was moved with a heart of compassion when He saw the plight of the multitudes. Sometimes His compassion was accompanied with tears.

Pray for the impossible as readily as the possible.

Remember what God has done before. Believe that He can do it again. Praying the attributes of God is helpful here. Sometimes evening praying through the alphabet with those attributes: God, I praise you that you are awesome, bold, competent, defender…

Pray with intensity.

Someone said, “Believe great things about God. Expect great things from God.”

Pray about anything and everything.

James 4:2, “You have not because you ask not.”

Jesus said to pray for “whatsoever.”

Pray (as Jesus did) for God’s will to be done.

Pray with authority.

Pray in Jesus’ name. (John 14:13-14; 15:16; 16:23-24)
