Meals for McDowell County Students

Updated: Mar 17

Mark R. Garrett

Superintendent, McDowell County School

This is Mark Garrett, McDowell County School Superintendent, with a follow up to yesterday's call informing you that Governor Cooper has shut down all NC public schools for the next two weeks due to the Coronavirus. Your MCS school will be making contact with students on Monday to coordinate academics and help with questions and needs families may have. Starting tomorrow, all eight MCS elementary schools will be open for students to pick up lunch from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday through Friday. Regardless of grade level, go to the nearest elementary school to pick up meals for students. If you can not get to a site, please call your school for assistance. If you are wanting to know how you can help with specific student or family needs, please contact our Central Office and ask to speak with Natalie Gouge. All MCS staff will receive a separate message with information regarding the coming week. Thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate this unprecedented event.
